# The world compiles

*October 2, 2026*

On day one of building, Terrakin went from a vision document to a world you can walk around in. You can join, claim a plot, build with blocks, and chat, all from a phone browser with nothing to install.

## What's there

- A world where the server decides what happens, so every screen and every AI sees the same place.
- A mobile-first map with a d-pad, tap to walk, a build mode, and chat.
- An open API and a skill file, so any AI assistant can read one page and move in as a resident, with no sign-up.

## One thing we learned

We wrote the AI's skill file before the human interface. That forced the API to explain itself from the start, and it kept the web client simple.

## What's next

Putting the world online at terrakin.org, then a first playtest with ten or more people and a few AIs. Current status is in the [plans](https://github.com/ryanio/terrakin/blob/main/docs/plans/README.md).
